After 4months or so of hiatus I'm finally back at blogging :)

Been really busy at the first quarter of the year that I didn't even have time to rant and complain here. Dissertation had been an ass but it's part of student life and it would nt have been complete without that =p

And with a blink of an eye, I've stepped into the corporate world for close to a month. I was overwhelmed with mixed feelings about working and boyfriend says im prolly Too pampered. This transition frm being a student to a working adult is just so scary!

And now i am sitting at my desk, reading emails after emails. Waking up in the morning at 7.30am everyday is omg the worse part of working. It's like attending 9am lectures everyday. Gosh *backpain, neckpain etc etc waist line getting bigger also

And The value of money suddenly became so eminent to me. Scrimp and save every cent of it. Received my first pay recently and thought, how should I spend it? Financial independence is what boyfriend says we have. Haha but it seems I've more headache now thinking of how much to allocate to each component that forms my monthly expenditure. And limiting myself from online shopping is seriously like asking a smoker to stay away from cigarettes!

I'm missing my life badly. Impromptu JB trips, movies, baking and making ice cream in the middle of the day, going on unplanned holidays, impulss booking of airline ticket, MAMBO and the list goes on.... Now I'm too tired to even stay awake past 10pm!

All said, I have to grow up afterall, I'll just have to tell myself to remain optimistic everyday :) earn more $$$$ hehe and its all for an awesome future

it's the end of week 3 final semester and thank godness career fair ended! no more scratching head, thinking of what work clothes to wear. i've got limited work clothes so everything was kinda like repetitive.

NUS career fair was FUN! better than RE's. We attended talks pertaining to "how to secure ur dream job" (like that was possible?), "Does look matter?" and a make up course for girls only of course.

I find the talk regarding to image quite interesting. The speaker even demo-ed to prove the point. 1 take away point, dress up in apt clothes that u're comfy in instead of following fashion trends.

Some tips which I found interesting

Tips #1 Always wear a light coloured long sleeve blouse and dark colored skirt/pants when u're going for an interview. 2 piece outfit will make u look more professional.

Tip #2 Always wear HEELS! yeah i knw some of us really hate to do so, that includes me. but first impression really counts. Heels that arent too high unless u're auditioning for something else. *ahem

Tip#3
Nv cross your legs, but instead shift ur legs to the side (like how Ann Hathaway was tot in Princess diaries if u remember). By crossing ur legs, u'll give the interviewers an impression that u're very atas, high class, arrogant.

Make up class was the highlight of the day becos we actually get to do hands on! hehe and experiment with the almost everything the brand carried. Majolica Majorca by Shiseido group. The teacher was really quite funny esp the way he spoke. haha Juicy Juicy so SEXY! haaha his catch phrase. Quite a good session for a make up noob like me. an unglam me in action. haha

Final Semester Week 0

Lots of unhappiness even though 2011 has only embarked into it's first month . Right now, I think I knw how it feels, when he says he felt that he didnt think he made any close friends in his 4 yrs. Not to say, I dont, I have some. But I just wanna voice out how i feel about some people who are constantly seeking for people who r beneficial and will only be friends with you if u possess some form of benefits to reap, or are just useful? sigh. pushing responsibility around and coming up with plenty of excuses. left out means left out quit giving excuses.

That aside, have been really busy trying to get all 3 modules secured. Final semester, yet I'm not able to get the modules I want, bidded till round 3B but still, 2 modules short.

Modules Wish List:

2. Korean 1

3. New Media 1101E

Module outcome after 3 rounds of bidding, and only after appealing countless times and looking for teachers to plead for modules. I got this:

3. Introduction to Computing.

I cant believe I am even taking a computing module. It's simply unbelievable! I think I need all the luck I can have to score in this module. =P just gotta try at making websites and wearing those geeky specs and talk about hardwares and html? hmmmm....

Dissertation is such a bother, seriously. Recently, a good girlfriend of mine told me that her friend came up with lots of definition for the acronym FYP aka dissertation. haha some were kinda vulgar, so I guess I will not say it here, just in case. maybe after I received my grade for it, i'll let the cat out of the bag. So, I am having the hardest time getting started with my dissertation. Everyone's at it, even bf and kelly. sigh...i just find it soo difficult to focus on dissertation because i hate doing things i dislike. oh well, gotta face it, and get down to serious work (yeah right :| )

Career Fest will last 2 weeks, and we have to attend at least 4 sessions. The thought of having to work in less than 6 months is freaking me out. For now, I guess im not ready to go out into the work force. After this semester, it's working for LIFE. gosh, no more waking up at 1pm everyday, no more shopping/manicure/pedicure/tea/movie/jb in the DAY for LIFE. how's that! most people cant wait to stop school and work but i am the opposite, i dont want school to end!!

but again i've got to face up to reality, attended 1 week of talks by real estate companies and concluded that im not ready. Most are looking for graduates with good academic results. 2nd lower good enough or not? Some provided really good incentives but i dont knw whether that's what I am looking for. oh well, 1 more week of career fest. I hope I'll be able to at least knw what kinda job i want.

with a blink of an eye it's year end, and it was in Dec 2009 I fell completely in love with the guy who later on gave me 365 days of sunshine.

as unromantic as he say he is, I disagreed. I am probably the unromantic one. Our 16th Dec 2010 started late during dinner time. He brought me to Paulaner @ Millenium Walk a German Restuarant becos he wanted us to relive the wonderful time we had in Europe and that was the closest thing. Enjoying german beer and a meal of pork knuckle and schintzel. and he asked, where's ur winter jacket? :)

unromantic as he say he was, I disagreed. He hid presents in the car, and till today I am still wondering how he did it. =P I am the unromantic one, I hid his in my closet. Yay! Pink Polaroid Cam was all that I ever wanted. big hole in his pocket =P Finally.

this semester is by far the slackest! firstly, i think taking more modules helps in motivating one to study. im only taking 4 this semester compared to 6 last sem. and i have NO motivation at all to start studying, nor prepare a time table. ooooo this is bad bad bad!

knowing that im gonna s/u 1, knw what's coming out for another doesnt help much either. and this week is like the last week of semester 7, with exams lurking round the corner, i NEED as much motivation as possible to chiong ah! the fact that i can still blog, and edit pictures says a LOT. sorry im a nerd

Nt forgetting the fact, last sem's notes which were supposed to be cleared a long time ago from those colourful files, were still intact. on a positive note, im proud to have been able to motivate myself enough to clear them and make way for the over flowing pile of notes i have on my table! under the influence of alcohol( choya only la!)

so the last tut of this semester, and also the last one with the fast track people like eug lee, means photo taking time as usual. check out zj's face (in green arrow) and i wonder what is sebastian doing. hmmmmmz

Dinner was sumptious @ The Bee Huat Restaurant, 1 room 2 tables. with i dont knw how many course dinner!

daddy says, this restaurant have been around since he was born, that's a really long time! anxious to try the food.

im a big fan of the sharks' fin soup! yummy soup. but dislike the Hokkien Mee which was suppose to be the signature dish!

Service was BAD, same sentiment as those who reviewed the restuarant at hungry gowhere, the waitresses kept rushing us to finish the food.

last time this year, we fell in love. for those who were speculating =P before i left for Berlin, we confessed to each other. =) and u've kept me smiling since then. though not officially tgt yet, i felt so bliss. distance wasnt the issue. it started only when i went Germany, absence makes the heart grow fonder =) we msn, skype and what nt, and love blossomed. i was oblivious to all his hints, till 081009.

& that's the best boyfriend award for u love

so to mark, this special day, we went to universal studios at night, had dinner and then watch the much anticipated fireworks display :)

lookbook.nu is my fave website right now. whenever im too saturated with projects, i'll take a 5 min peek at all those pretty girls and boys with pretty clothes. and looking thru the peektures, as seasons change, style and fashion change too, and right nw, i miss fall/winter season in germany.

we went to a farmer's market at 75 Loewen Rd in Dempsey last saturday after reading a recommendation on Chic Magazine. researched a little online about the farmer's market that night and decided to head down the next morning.

the market opens at 8.30am and closes at 2pm according to online source. so i got up bright and early on a saturday morning while baby woke up late! =P haha when it comes to food i'll be up =P

anyway, it's pretty deep inside Dempsey and it's kinda difficult to get there if u dont have a car. lucky for us, we have one. at first we tot the place will be filled with expats, but nah there was a balance of both us and expats. the stalls were mostly mended by ang-mohs, even the veg counter. rare sight in Singapore i must say.

re-enactment of the farmer's market i use to love going to every sunday in Germany. Those markets in Europe is probably 20times bigger then the one we went to. they were clean and not smelly compared to the upgraded uwet markets we have in Singapore.

so in Loewen rd, they had stalls which sold premium olive oil, chocolates, dried products, cakes and pastries, bread, wines, english beer and cider, cheese, salami, a bbq counter, and of course my favourite paella station! yummmmmy!

heard the paella is good and that's the primary reason why we decided to give it a go at the market, kinda pricey at $10 per box, but it was all worth it. i think we bought like $40 worth of paella, and i must say it's a must-try. The paella is definitely better then those we had in Marche and Ma Maison, and comparable to those we ate in Barcelona! heavenly! cooked by a Spanish lady, which explains to authenticity, the ingredients were so fresh and their not stingy about how much prawn, sotong they give u. thumbs up!

and we had a bbq bacon burger to share as well, love the sesame bun hehe. but still cant compare to yummy paella! oops =X

it's kinda like a family affair over there, with kids running around and drawing all over on the floor as there were chalks laying about everywhere, the people there are very friendly and almost everything can be sampled! haha singaporean...

well, ang decided maybe it's time we have a BBQ together, and cad kindly hosted the BBQ at his house.
and as usual when u put 10 hungry people together, u'll expect a lot a lot a lot of FOOOOOD, so much that we couldnt finish again, as usual.

and the portobello mushroom with cheese is created by urs truely! hehe we had like sausages, crabsticks(yummy) 40 chicken wings, garlic bread and seafood plus cad's yummy pork lard! and we all agreed that this kinda bbq should only happen like once in a while if not we'll all have clogged up arteries from all the prok lard in our body =P

have been busy doing much about nothing all mid sem break. havent been catching up with a lot of school work and project, not to mention dissertation =( so many things to do with so little time, what am i to do.

despite all, we had a wonderful mooncake festival tgt, baby n i, and with the rest of the lycans.

an early mooncake festival, we went Clarke Quay after moviemob to see all the wonderful bright colourful lights.

and just nice, the mid-autumn festival at clarke quay coincided with the taiwan food fare! but the sad thing was we were soooo full and only managed to try 1 of it. Smelly TOFU! *covers nose* im quite impress with the array of taiwanese food selection. the stall vendors are also from Taiwan, authentic huh. anyway, not a big fan of smelly tofu, think that it's really stinky after u eat it, and the smell stays in the mouth.

Read on Sunday times, in the Life section on 20 dates less than $20. chanced upon this drive-in movie thingy and decided to check out the webbie.

re-enactment of the past. 1970s Jurong Drive-in movie theatre. this time it's a mobile movie theatre which screens movie for free at different location every fortnight. it's a really fresh concept to me as i am born in the 1980s. which at that time, the drive-in movie theatre was already closed. mom n dad went on dates, driving to jurong in those days. when i told her about it, she was excited and we couldnt wait for the next one.

the webbie said we have to arrive at 7pm but being the kiasu singaporean, we arrived a tad bit earlier at 6.45pm. the field already had cars which lined up in 2 rows already. we parked at the 3rd row. going into the grass patch was a little jammed because we had to fill in surveys for them. i guess that was only for 1st timers. some bridgestone tyres survey.

the present day drive in movie theatre brought together by moviemob.

we were told that once we have parked our car, there's no more going out till the movie ends but we're allowed to go tabao dinner which we did at Liang court. down to the basement to meidiya supermarket where we got sushi and salad. and then to tampopo deli to get our bento set which can be heated up using the mircowave provided by the deli. hehe in the end we spent more than $20. oh oh! my yummy bento set which cost $14 (sorry bout the washed-out photo)

movie started! Fantasy night tonight at moviemob. We watched Percy Jackson: the lightning thief which we missed at the cinema. movie started at 8pm and we set in the honda fat enjoying our dinner and the movie. wondering where the sound speakers are? well it's in your very own car! yeaps created a surround sound effect when u tune into the right frequency on the radio. if u close the doors and wind up the window then u'll get that effect, but to safe the earth and our pockets, we decided to wind down the window and open the doors instead.

the movie ended at around 10pm and so it's time to go! i expected that we will take a long time to exit the field, but the crew were very organised in guilding the cars out of the field. there were like at least 8 rows of cars but we got out of the place in less then 15mins after the movie ended. thumbs up for moviemob!

IFG 2010

this kept me up most of the nights in school.

ifg 2010 is here again, and this time i'm more involved because bf is the soccer captain/manager. hehe =) have been waiting for this for a longgg time! since i've missed last year's cos i was away in germany!

though bf only played like less than 10mins for the entire soccer period. he's the best player =)

luckily i had xin zhi to accompany me during the matches or else i'll be so bored while bf is shouting at his players. oops =X this year wasnt their lucky year, though they didnt lose a single match, and won like 2. oh well, better luck next year.

my last year bowling ifg, because this time round no ivp players were allowed and i missed trials last month, which means im not bowling sunig this year and i can bowl IFG! haha like finally, we won but we won bronze. a big achievement for SDE. heeh everyone's happy my first medal in 4 years in ifg

start of the mid terms break, i think it's time i get on with blogging and share my life for the past 3 weeks.

a struck of luck brought us to this Chinese restaurant @ Resorts World Sentosa.

i've tried this restaurant before with my parents months ago, because we couldnt find a single place to have our dinner when the resort just opened.

google susur lee and a list of webbie appears, even wikipedia and a list of restaurants he is associated to. the good thing about the restaurant was, the menu changes every month so you dont need to worry about getting bored of the set dinners which ranges from $65 to $200+.

and so this is the photo of him which appeared on the posters in resort world.

service was great too, we had pretty waitresses serving us and recommending food and wine. i guess they hold a tough job. knowing what is good and what wine to recommend to match the dishes and also talk to diners. also, this is the first chinese restaurant i've seen in singapore with an ang moh manager.

mommy tried this mojito looking drink. cant remember what isit. it has 2 cups, a smaller cup inside which has honey and a larger one which contains i dont know what! haha oops =X

moving onto yummy food! most of the dishes are like fusion food which is very different from what we usually eat.

for starters we had this 4 combination dish. love the fried oyster tempura and the coffee ribs!

then the usual soup, fish, prawn , meat and veg. as u can see, they came in really small portions, but surprisingly it was rather filling. a good break after all those 7 month dinner in which we pigged ourselves out, in order to finish the big plates of food. fish and prawn are served tgt and the meat n veg on another. see what i mean by small portions?

then came the carbo. ramen in a special soup, it had a hint of tomyam yet it wasnt sour but it was rather spicy. but a comfortable kind of spicy. and it came with a piece of fresh scallop on top of the noodle

still have room for dessert. fried mooncake! sounds interesting? it's actually mooncake without the skin. instead of the usual snow skin or trad skin mooncake, it was simply deeped in flour and fried with the lotus paste in them. love the dessert as i think the berry sauce complimented the mooncake very well.

new school finds

the past week have been pretty tiring for me for some reason. the drilling coming from the house beside has been getting on my nerves so much so i wanna move out for the time being and mommy say find a room in school. haha and i think i've already missed the window period for pgp?

oh well. got to live with this misery. blehh 8am and i'm up already. tsk damn those renovation, i wonder why they have to drill all day long, everyday. it's not like their house is made of holes. raaaaaaah i wanna throw a hammmer to stop the noise. =(

last week was filled with food, food and more food. gosh. i think my tummy is gonna burst from all those food i've been consuming and also die of too much nutrition and rich food. becos daddy is very involve in 7 month dinners and ceremonies, we're always invited to dinners and i must say i'm quite sick of the food! got to draw the line and yesterday kok n i definitely did.

this was taken 2 weeks ago during our 8th, look at the amount of food on the table! could feed an army i suppose. ever since cad n kelly came back we've been going for so much local food every now n then, we're growing sideways. dim sum is always the best form of gathering :) all happy n smiles at yum cha chinatown. our biggest lycans turn out so far! even ang was there for dimsum and because everyone was present eug lee was pulled to join us when he had to rush his dissertation =PP

following that, i had Ippudo @ mandarin gallery on friday for chantel's birthday. best ramen in town but i was simply too full to have a bowl to myself. haha only had a few mouthfuls, kok tried hard ramen and i told him it tasted like wanton mee. belittle the infamous ramen. but it was definitely better than the one i had in Tampopo the night b4 with the girls. too bad i didnt get a bowl in ippudo cos ben took the bill =P only had a pot of green tea to myself. booooo

and then to fruit paradise for the cake cutting. cakes or shall i say giant pies/fruit tart looked so pretty, i've walked pass this cafe a couple of times in city hall and vivo but havent got a chance to try them. they defnitely looked too good to be eaten. so much so i couldnt even tell the fake plastic display to the real one. yes that's how good it looked =P. but the taste was disappointing. it's like i've paid 8 bucks for a whole load of cream! ewwwwww. i tried mount blanc and the chestnut swirl on top was tasteless not to mention the custard bottoms.

and enough about food. moving on to new things in life. ta da! iphone4! yipppeeeedo.. all thanks to daddy, "want to buy what? iphone 4 ah? ok let's go" i've got the best dad in the whole world or what?! =)))) got to the shop but they were all "SOLD OUT" hah, dad's "friend" made a few calls and ta da iphone4 resting on my hands. iphone 4 is of course better than my current chui iphone 3g. it's faster, longer battery life and has multi tasking features. plus i've ordered my free bumper from apple and it'll be shipped here is 3 weeks time. haha long? freee mah!

and i've blinged up my fat fat Honda on my steering wheel with the bling bling i bought from Daiso $2 only. and i've used it on my iphone casing as well and my canon g10. fat fat finally fitted with pink crystals =)) mommy say it's very ah lian, but i like can already la! haha =PP

and the ASOS parcel arrived! hehe and this time it's HUMONGOUS! becos of wei jie's shoes and wayne's bags, i only ordered 2 items which only took up 1/10th of the space. hah they still think i bought a lot. i asked my maid how did the postman deliver such a big package, she said no motorbike, VAN! woahhhhhh haha

and this was what i got and they were on sale! hehe cheap cheap buys la. the kulottes which look very nice on this lanky model and kinda look weird on me ooops =XX i need longer slimmer legs! and this spag top which was inspired my chanel hehe!

Never had i knw, that he had a surprise birthday dinner lined up for me at night. dinner with my closest friends, especially the brats whom i havent seen in so long!brunch for dinner was awesome too.

sch started and gosh, time passes really fast in uni. Year 4, the big 4. first day of sch started on the 10th of Aug after national day, Singapore Studies and we're building a nation. i have a bad hunch about this mod, one thing it seems damn difficult! and mr huang could still say this the night before the lect " how difficult can it be", we were more or less overwhelmed by the lect on tues. hah history...... close book exam came as a shocker to some of us.

and yeaps they are back! kelly, eug, cad and nana are back from the West. and right after lect we scooted down to bedok 85 for ba chor mee, or lua and char kway teow and yummy durian! haha durian season is like the best time of the year :))

over the long weekend part 2

and so national day is so awesome because we managed to squeeze through the crowd at marina bay sands and got 2 front row seats by the singapore river where the national day fireworks were set.

while waiting 2 hrs for the show to start, i whipped out my camera and started taking pictures of the beautiful singapore skyline.

and finally after 2 hours, the fireworks finally shoot up into the night sky, with all cameras ready to shoot, i've put mine in multi shot mode so i clicked away and ended up with close to 100 shots of fireworks while ogling at the magnificant splendour

today's brunch, we went down to Hatched @ Evans Road after a long long long run at Macritchie. a well deserve brunch. heeeez it's quite a drive to that place. hidden in a corner near NUS law campus. parking was kinda limited too.

this brunch place sells everything that has to do with EGGS! yeapps can guess it from the name of the place. recommanded by bf's friend. saturday afternoon was fully booked and so we had to sit outside the restuarant at the lobby area. which felt kinda weird but who cares! we were hungry once again =P

after we ordered our food, the waiter came and asked if we would like to move inside since there is space now. and told us to leave everything on the table and they'll move it. which i thought was nice, at least they still pay attention to those sitting outside. overall, the service was awesome, despite the fact that they forgot one of our orders. but yeahh, all smiles.

we both had egg benedict, mine was with bacon and ham while bf had his with corned beef. yum yum! it came with an english muffin topped with bacon, ham / corned beef, mash potato as my sides and roasted potatoes for his side. the egg was perfect with runny yolk.however, the english muffin was a little mushy from the water on the egg. but okay it's great.

okay and at the end, we werent full again, we could have ordered for 2 for each benedict we had. but we werent sure about the amt of food. eventually, bf didnt have enough to eat so we ordered another plate of french toast. the bread is very thick and is topped off with maple syrup. ok i think its' not a favourite, just normal toast, but bf likes it. =)

over the long weekend

national day is awesome, because we get more holidays! hehe loooooong weekend, but i was already having sch holidays!

to start off the long weekend, headed back to school to watch the annual Rag dance, this year's theme for SDE was Candy land which was kinda similar to the one i was involved in 3 years ago. what a long time it has been already, and im gonna grad next year =X okay shall leave that to next year.

i think this year's float looked as great as ever, with a myriad of colours and intricate details. it looks so deliciously pretty! the structure is actually made up of recycled materials such as oreo boxes, cardboard, unused makeup bottles, diskettes, plastic bottle caps and many more coooool stuff i nv thought would be possible to resuse. the float head is definitely genius haha because i think i can nv design a float like that.

unfortunately, the lorry broke down and we got points cut off for that, nonetheless, the performance was great. very lively and upbeat, just a tad bit messy i must say, not to mention the costumes were really pretty, all the hard work the costume people put into making these cutsy costumes of liqourice, kinder egg, ferrero rocher, and the ginger bread man!

this year's rag is very different from previous years. 1. it didnt start in the morning but instead at 3pm and ended at around 9pm. dragged on into the night when the hall performance starts. and they are aired on tv i think. to avoid being in the dark,

because this year, nus will be receiving the YOG Torch! hehe sounds exciting right, but i only manage to capture this because we were sitting soooo far away.

bf suggest prolly i should do a post on brunch since we've been going on a "brunch-spree". brunch searching have been our fav pastime.

recently, we've been to the place called FOOD FOR THOUGHT @ Queens St. have heard a lot about that place. on fb and hungrygowhere. it was crowded during lunchtime but becos it was only the 2 of us, we were seated after few minutes. love the decor of the place, quite funky.

food was pretty awesome, there are all-day breakfast which we intend to try the next time we go back. we tried risotto because we were so hungry! but the portion waas pretty small, we thought we would be filled after but nooooo. so if u're really hungry u'll prolly wanna order the mains instead.

i had the mushroom risotto while bf had seafood. actually both taste quite alike, because there's a lot of garlic in it. the seafood was pretty fresh and the mushroom is just sooo tasty. bimbo moment of the day: bf ask is the texture of risotto suppose to be like this (sticky)?? i answered, yeah it's italian. hmmmmmmmmmz

we're still very hungry so we ordered an extra order of pancakes! berry pancakes from the all day breakfast menu. pancakes with cream topping, berries and maple syrup. the pancake is kinda different from the rest i've tried before and i thought the pancakes tasted like roti john or like french toast. it seems like dipped the pancakes into beated eggs.

okay so life hasnt been really interesting recently. =( but work ended!

Internship
2 month long internship has finally ended and im soooo Happp-pie! hehe no more waking up at 7am every morning and cracking my brain with what im gonna wear to work =X

so everybody came n go and finally it's time for us to go! last batch of interns to leave last friday

and these are the lovely cards/gifts they've prepared for us
the cards that xinlei prepared for us, all hand drawn and written. awwwww =) and the special cup our colleagues made for us! the black veil will disappear when u pour hot water in the cup its soo cool! haha okay mountain tortoise. but yeah SWEEEET and of cos many many many chocs and candies. =P

in a flash, we've done the world cities summit and also the nightmarish research folders we slogged for 2 weeks. i think i havent done so much research before in a short 2 weeks span. plus a presentation *phewwww who says interns dont do any work =P 12 files 4 pple 2 weeeeeks!

well and then in a flash, internship is now over, all the experience i've got will definitely be valuable. of cos there are many times where i hated the job. food was the only yay-time of the whole work time. plus the awesome friends and colleagues, things went as bad afterall.

thank yoou darling for this! hehehe i love u much much much! i bought a lightstick for myself and we had free pom pom and a waving thing which has Jay chou on it!! =)) haha

embarrassing at first because we were sitting at the wrong seats! hah paiseh, noobs we 2, in the end managed to find our rightful seats. but i guess we've got good seats. not the most expensive seats but yeah we sat directly facing the stage and there werent any blockage even during the show

Stef sun was there too to grace the occasion, no wonder everybody in front took kept taking photos of 'someone' we couldnt see from our places.

the concert atmosphere was soooo good and high! we were standing throughout the concert and singing along with Jay! love it when he played the piano...awwwwwww so mesmerized! =P and the whole concert was set on a 3D kinda theme as well! and it looked so real! sorry u've got to be there to experience it!

Spore garden fest 2010

Singapore Garden Fest 2010

went for my first Singapore Garden Festival held in Suntec City this year in July. Instead of just once, i actually went twice! first with kok and the next was an excursion with CLC.

on the 5th and 6th floor of the suntec convention centre, kok n i visited the 5th one first which showcased a whole lot of orchids! yeapps from all over the world, and u wonder africa has orchids?! =P oops okay maybe it's a little bimbotic. besides the orchids, there were also displays of local community and heartland gardens.

there was also a section by AVA, how they grow veggies in spore and what are the different kinds of illness or pest present in those plants. and also sale of terraniums! they look awesomely fun but nahhh i dont think i've got a green thumb to possess one.

after awhile level 5 got a little boring, because after awhile it all looked the SAME, and i told him, i think im not at the age to appreciate flowers yet. haha =X level 6 was waaaaaay more interesting, the displays were kinda out of ordinary, and i wish i that's reality.

themed as fantasy garden, it's really a fantasy to walk through those displays, it looks a lot like the forest in Avatar. i went for the tour organised by CLC, the commentary made it interesting. about how nature would eventually take its place back on whatever humans built on land.

when i went with kok, we walked past these hospitality pavillions and thought it would be nice to be dining in there because it was sooo beautiful! and yes i had my chance! hehe with CLC, refreshments for MND staff ! and food was real exquisite! fine dining tea time for us all! and we get to miss 4 hrs of work how awesome is that?! hehehe

Having Fun in the Sun

my blog is gonna become a photoblog if i dont start typing some words down. On leave on Monday, i tagged along to Sentosa with kok and brought Waffles along, the weather was great for tanning and that's what i planned to do.

the sky was beautiful that Sunday afternoon but i guess Waffles didnt enjoy his first beach experience because he was tooo hot and tired, all those walking, is prolly the longest he ever walked. he spent almost all the day resting and finding the right spot to laze. while i sat and watch them play ball. got bored after a while and started to take pictures of my surrounding and yes i love my G10! hehe best one yet thanks guys =)

and that's love doing his thing. HOT haha =PP

got a little sun burnt after the whole beach thingy but it felt good, a healthy glow haha =PP ended the day with dinner at a kopitiam with kok and then it was soccer at 2.30am i almost couldnt wake up haha and was dazed during the match thank godness i'm on leave on Monday haha.

meetups are always great when u have good company and good food. met up with this bunch of crazy used to be exchange students @ Brotzeit Raffles City after 6 months.

reminiscing the unique exchange experience we all had last august and piecing them tgt to get a whole idea of what exchange was really about. the crazy partying and the serene Rhein river remained etched in our head and i guess that's the experience only us few had. speaking of which i MISS europe! gosh a million times i repeated this to everybody. haha i refuse to look at mich's photos because it's so tempting!

beer and sausages, pizzas and schintzel are the things we miss.

and so after Vietnam i dived right into an Internship which my friends recommanded. and it has been OT after OT and even on Saturday. Preparation for the World Cities Summit was already ongoing when i joined MND and boy, i felt like i've gain a lot of insights and learn a lot of things especially how to use Microsoft EXCEL. haha nv knew they could be so useful.

well but i do dread working sometimes because i have to wake up so damn early in the morning and sleep so damn early at night because my eyes just cant be kept open. spent very little time with kok and have no life for myself. it has been like go to work-end work-dinner-a little bit of tv-sleep. i dont get to meet up with friends nor do i have time to go for trainings! =P boo hooo so taking leave for today is like so awesome.

the only time i looked forward to is lunch time and of cos when it is time to knock off! fridays and saturdays. Sundays mean pre monday blues. thank goodness i have a great bunch of friends at work to keep me going till the end of the month of July. 31st come quick please =)))) and i can put an end to the work-life misery and finally find a balance. hehez

it was better than expected on Viet airline. tasted rather good :)

street food.
it's pretty much the common and characteristic sight of developing countries. carts of food on the road side. some looked real yummy but others, errr what's that? a few street food i've tried. first are the crispy waffles and the round eggy cake which tasted like kueh. the lady let us try a few pieces and kok ended up buying 2 packs of those. that was the very first vietnam street food i've tried so i was kinda skeptical and felt like as if i had "stomach pain" but i was alright it's the mind thingy.

most of the stores sold fruits like mangosteen, dont know how to choose them although i wanted to get some. and also drinks like coke and sprite in glass bottles! will not be able to find it in spore i guess. we're too into the clean and recycle cans.

second one i tried was the Vietnamese springroll. which is not so much to my liking oops. it tasted too raw! and there are weird veggies in it which tasted yucky! eee dont like them!

wanted to try their carrot cakes but we didnt have time on the first day and subsequently couldnt find them around the following day! :( booooo it smelt really great !!

at night we tried the colourful glutinous rice which taste awesome! haha orange, green, brown, white, purple. couldnt decipher what's in the brown one. but i know the green one is pandan flavor, orange taste like the orange sugar we eat in putu mayam and purple just like pulut hitam, white with peanuts. yummy. on top of that they added fresh coconut flesh and sugar.

something i didnt try..Balut! it's like eggs that are about to hatch. with the beak and feathers, veins and body parts already formed..thankfully i did not get to witness that. the boys tried it and it smelt like crab roe.

Notre Dame
similar to the one we saw on Paris, Notre dame in Vietnam. it wasnt as magnificant as the one we saw in Paris but we still took a photo of it hehe

Reunification Palace
the place where reunification took place ? haha yeaps basically it's a building with lots of room for conferences and entertainment for the officials and government. there's even a games room with a mahjong table! wow. the place is rather huge, a lots of open spaces for people to roam about. found nothing special about the place actually. maybe because we did not opt for a tourguide to bring us ard with commentary due to lack of time.

War Museum
I feel this is probably the must go place in HCMC. lack of time, we arrived only at 12pm when they were almost closing for lunchbreak (????!!!!) the guard was nice enough to let us in for 20mins free! only could take a look at some of the exhibits and we went into the mocked up tiger cage. which is real freaky, i have problems looking thru the pictures i've taken at night. it was where the prisoners of war were kept and tortured, u should go see it for urself, the gruesome picture i dont even want to describe here. and the living conditions of the place was terrible. freaky...

Seminars and talks

our agenda on this trip was to of course gather infomation but i certainly cant help falling asleep during seminars and talks. some are really boring. we went for site visits to uncompleted projects and shopping centres and also the offices to gather info. my project was on conservation and heritage, so that gave me an excuse to visit historical and tourist places and take interest in them.

anyway on Vietnam.. it was a summer 'special' sem module not a Holiday which i need so badly. but nonetheless i travelled with people i dont usually hang out with in school and though it was fun but i must say, i miss kelly caderam nana and eug lee

first stop Ho Chi Minh city. the plane ride there was horrible! the runway rocky as it can be, almost made me puke! haha but i didnt thank god. hehe welcome to HCMC

the streets and roads were filled with motorcycles, our bus stuck up like a sore thumb in the vast pool of motorcycles. the roads were super uneven and dirty! haha people could pee on the streets, men women and child. not paiseh! the outlook of the city looks old, it looks like a mix of both the street scene of bangkok and malaysia.

crossing the road was a hassle, screaming and fearing i would be knocked down by the motorcycles which filled the road. but after some time we got use to the traffic and crossed with NO FEAR =P (yeah right) to aid our crossing, there are green mans standing in the middle of the road, they're the tourist police. they stopped traffic for us when we wanna cross the roads but they're only located at the touristy place.

our hotel was unexpectedly great, 3 star hotel has everything like wifi and massage parlour but no facebook. =P the room was spacious and the toilet is huge hehe.

we were only 10mins walk away from Ben Thanh market. It's similar to chatuchak in Bangkok but more organise and cleaner. rows of shops ranging from clothes to fresh food produce. there's one thing i didnt like about the place was perhaps because the passage ways were real small and the store holders were touching our arms everytime we walk pass.

Just a quick update before I hit the sack....

I have just returned from The land of honk honk a week ago and have started work at CLC. Yeaps the princess/spoilt brat have finally walked out of her comfort zone and stepped into the world of meetings, research, and typing. Some just call that WORK! Tmr I'll reach the 1week mark and already im loathing it. Raaaah!

Now i guess I know how mom feels when she gets home from work, why she falls asleep while watching 8pm tv shows, why Joanne complains abt work all the time and why the birth rate in spore is so low-.-

I'm practically a zombie after work, I need smth called ENERGY pumped into me. I don't have a life anymore. While bf is at Zouk mamboing his night away I'm lying on my bed hoping tmr is Friday..Ahhhh fml...

will update on Vietnam over the weekends when i start on my journalling assignment ( due 21st June). which reminds me DISSERTATION!!!!! My plan is flopped-./

brunch was lovely in Mykii @ holland v. quaint environment for lovers. great for a lazy afternoon brunch :)

food tasted good, with a mix of breakfast and lunch (duh.... it's brunch) we had 2 set meals, one with an extra

main course. i had seafood caesar salad while he had the sausages and egg. we shared the grilled dory fish

main course and had pancakes with ice cream and strawberry pancakes for dessert. finished up with fresh

juice and gourmet tea :)

i think having free shipping to singapore is the best thing! haha plus the lower currency rate woohooo! =)) haha shoppaholic in the making. i think it's pretty efficient! it took less than 2 weeks for the stuff to arrive at my doorstep. unlike backorders which takes a gazillion years to arrive. im still waiting for bonito chico's loot, almost 3 weeks now!

the packaging was good too, the put my watches in a box which contained 2 watches i bought. hehe initially i was afraid that the watches will be damaged due to handling but they're safely kept in 2 boxes giving me a peace of mind. =)

clothes though didnt fit my size. haha it's not too small but too big! mom say i need to do some altering to them, the dress was gorgeous but the top was tooo loose, i guess it's because the people there are taller, the strap doesnt fit my short frame at all. same goes to the blouse i bought for work, the shoulder part does fit me too, too broad for me. but oh well! still got hope

mother's day unlike any other year, was simple and homely in 2010. Unlike the elaborated celebrations the Klang-ians had for ah jia, we simply dined at home with a boiling pot of soup specially prepared my mom=)

u might say that we're so mean to make mom cook on mother's day, but that's what she loves to do. and as long as she feels happy we're happy =)

this time round, im not the one flying far far away from Singapore. Kelly, Eugene Lee, Nana, Caderam will be flying far far far far away. even further then me! haha their 23hrs flight to New York vs 12hrs flight to Frankfurt.

booo hoooo gonna miss those 4 so much. they'll be gone for 3 whole months, working in the States at a themepark. Cad's ambition is to be a road sweeper, how ambitious of him =X

kelly told us to be at the airport around 8.30 and we were punctual. but she was LATE! as usual =PPP she's the last one to arrive while eug was queuing up at the check in desk. while caderam brought his PILLOW, kelly brought a 11kg backpack which she couldnt even carry. =PP Nana's backpack looked like she could stuff a kid in there. haha reminds me of myself in Aug 2009 kiasu singaporeans.

sigh life this summer is gonna be a quiet one, without those 4 people in my life =| n tmr starts my summer programme in school, a week of 5 day classes from 10am to 6pm. i have one awesome life -.-

when my parents abandon me on a saturday evening for the damn casino. darling and i found a new hang out place. it's tucked at one corner of Singapore though ooo loo, it was packed with people! haha amazing how word spread.

if u dont have a car u can basically forget about getting there, unless u're rich enough to pay for cab. but i guess all singaporeans alike own a car (looking at the damn traffic rush hour in the mornings). the steamboat restuarant is located at Punggol 17th Ave Punggol Marina Country Club. go google and u'll know why i say u need a car! haha

it was pre mother's day and there were like hoards of people queuing up. thank goodness i made a call while i was on the way there. the waitress was nice enough to tell us, if we get there earlier and there's seat they'll bring us in. good service. when we got there at 7.20pm, they promptly got us a table although our reservation was at 8pm. paid the money first and then the waitress waiting on us brought us to our table. it wasnt exactly like dining next to the sea, like what i read from some forums. instead we dine next to a prawn fishing pond -.-

the place is rather huge and the food section is larger than any other steamboat buffet places i've seen. because there were only 2 of us, we didnt need to squeeze like the other tables did. their tables are fixed to the ground stardard size. 6-7 people squeeze in 1 table while we happily enjoy the space we had =PP. on the table was a mounted bbq rack and the steamboat pot. soup and bbq tgt all on charcoal. seems quite fun hehe

the food ranges from seafood to all kinds of meat, marinated in everyway to yong tau foo and an array of greens, largely mushrooms yum=) they even have sushi but no sashimi. free flow of drink is included too. like i said it was pre mother's day and the food counters wer packed with people, darling n i didnt know where to even start, gives us a headache looking at so many people walking here n there.

i guess the only thing i didnt like were the houseflies. FAT and ROUND houseflies. one even landed in my sauce at drown. =X oops didnt take the picture because it looked kinda gross. and flying ANTS were everywhere too. PEST yuck.....

duo marathon

the last movie we watched tgt with our beloved friends till august. Ironman 2.

i was quite disappointed with the movie actually, wasnt really THAT awesome, heard so much about the first one and so my expection for the 2nd one was like sky high. oh well it was too draggy and most of the time, we didnt know what was happening. no claps for this one.

however, i tot Ip Man 2 was great. love the storyline. felt really sad for him when he just started his school and no one wants to learn! same as the first, i didnt manage to catch the 1st one, so since the 2nd part managed to catch my attention, i guess it deserves some popcorns doesnt it?? =))

Happy Birthday DARLING ! love turned 24 on 19th April. i decided to surprise him with a cake i made when the clock struck 12 and a small gift which i made too. haha no time to buy la exams exams exams. i made every effort to make sure he doesnt suspect anything. parked the car in between 2 big vans to appear invisible, took the lift from the 20th floor and the stairs to his on the 21st. when i knocked the door, he didnt even answer me! haha and i was about to burst out in laughter =PP

on his actual birthday i treated him to a good meal @ PS CAFE dempsey. love the place to LO-MAN-TIC! food was great, atmosphere was awesome

ZOMG i think i've put on so much weight this week.

first kok n i went for an impromptu buffet date after one of his project meetings, my way of making him feel better after a long day of work. nothing special, it was just opp sch, yeah u're right, Sakura buffet which taste like crap! nv ever go there unless u're really desperate. the food variety is good but i guess the standard isnt there. food was cold, unfresh, tasteless. bleahhhhh

on a better note, we went to try the Ramen we saw on Kelly's blog. looks yummy and kok was like saying " the bowl of Ramen kelly had was exactly the same as the picture on the menu". the food came really fast, its like as fast as macs. and the Ramen was so so so fresh and Q(if u knw what i mean) and the soup was slurpie-licious =) gyoza's skin was so thin and the filling inside was goood. thumps up kelly! good recommandation.

and then thursday, after lect we left sch for Korean "PORK LARD" buffet. Look at the picture and u'll know where we got that label from. To celebrate the end of "almost the end" of projects all 9 of us decided we should eat the stress out. the buffet was awesome, had lots of variety ranging from bimbimbap to seafood pancakes and diff kinds of soup. the bacon pork lard was the main for the day. i think we ordered more than 10 plates of it.

what i took away from ethics class today: do what is right and listen to your inner voice.

had a talk with the prof today about how to deal with skivers/slackers/irresponsible pple.
he quoted a case he faced last year, he minus 10% of marks from the skiver, he say it's dependent on the lecturer and up to us to decide if we want to report. one of his advise was, it's better to teach that person a lesson right now rather than protecting him/her before he goes out to work. it's people management and it's really essential when u're out at work, and we got to learn it now. regardless of whether he is a friend or not. on the other hand, he said if we do not want to report it, we'll just have to sit down n talk to him about it. haha

anyway time of the semester again where i'll post my study timetable. =P i just realise exams are very around the corner, if not right next door. looks like my April and May's Labour day will be gone in light of the upcoming exams =( okay it's not so clear in the picture but the pink coloured words are exams and the black ones well, things to study over the next few weeks. blah exams are killing me ! =|

on a happy note! we went on a date yesterday, a movie date we havent done for a long time.

except we didnt watch it in 3D. Overall a good movie, funny at times. hehe my favourite dragon in the poster! toothless is cute but i love the fat one =P .

before the movie we had dinner at Indulge @ The Cathay. I believed they moved here from Bugis.

Phew after an hour tedious battle with ethics project, Kelly and I are finally done with savaging it. Unfortunately it was done and submitted 1hr or so after deadline. I guess our specialization gameplan just failed.

nope, this isnt april fool's joke.
after weeks of debate between me n my parents, i became an owner of a brand new honda FAT.

Red Hot Fat.

it's really spacious though it looks small, but the power cannot be compared to the Volks i've driven for almost 2 weeks. haha kinda missed that now that i'm driving a honda. plus there's bodykit, daddy say it'll make the car look sporty, more like ah beng i think. kok n i both agree without bodykit the car looks nicer. sleeker. but oh well, as long as my parents are happy. oh not forgeting the ipod cable which connects ur mp3 player to the stereo of the car and a dvd player! had a go with it and it works perfectly =)

collected the car on thursday from the car, ran into some problems with the back bonnet, wasnt installed properly. then daddy wants to change the wheels to 15" which i tot made the car look nicer =). that's them 'zenging' the wheels. the first picture is off the original wheel which was traded in for the black one in the last picture. anyway,

all of u will get to see it on monday!

life has been much of a downer recently with so many darn projects to finish. i've totally no time to socialise, no time for everything but bury myself in the hoard of deadlines. raaaaaaaaaarr

no time for shopping, luck goodness someone invented blogshops, shopping in the comfort of your own home. hehe have been buying buying buying and feeling good whenever i see those brown packages arrived and placed on my bed. hehe becoming a shopaholic after so many months of t-shirts & jeans in Germany. thanks to cali, im like so hooked on cozy cot blogshop forum. when launching?! hehe

chinese restaurant in Resort World Hotel called Chinois under Tung Lok Grp of Restaurants. had a hearty meal over there on Saturday. waiting time was about 1hr or so. mom ordered $60per person set menu. Ambience was great, non like a chinese restaurant. the receptionist was ang moh! haha can u believe it! =P (mountain tortoise)

first dish: Mango salad prawn.

one person 2 prawns that's all u get. it was a fine dining experience i must say.

the soup tasted really weird. not to my liking at all. mommy say nice daddy say eeyer. haha there's a smell of pork though it was actually chicken in the soup.

scallop with asparagus. one each too. haha the scallop was awesome, really fresh and nicely cooked. wasnt salty at all though from the looks of it, i tot it was

steamed grouper, i think the fish was so-so but i simply love the dou gan at the bottom! hehe turning vegetarian. =)

this dish was LOVE. so much for being a 'vegetarian' in the making huh. pork loin in bbq sauce. yummy hehe i guess this is the best pork i've eaten, it was soft and chewy though there isnt any fats on it.

vegetable was the usual u get everywhere else. maybe a little scallop and fish maw added into it, nothing special

okay again i think this is the best mee sua ever tasted. better than lobster mee sua. a simple crab meat & roe mee sua was delicious, by looking at it and thinking about it makes me salivate. 5 ***** for this one chef!

daddy's comment, "huh so small ah?" good things come in small packages, chinese herbal jelly with barley and honey, i would say it was a simple dessert nothing too extravagant or creative.

overall i rate 4 stars for food and 3 for the service.

improvements on waiting time please.

my very first car crash! omg happened along lornie road towards farrer road. it happened in the morning during rush hour. i had to change into the centre lane because there were road works at the side of the road. so as i slowly edged into the lane, the car in front of me suddenly stopped and of course i had to hit the breaks too. but the car behind me continued on without hitting the breaks and BAM goes my car and the one in front of me and next car in front. i was so scared i didnt dare get down from my car, 2 sides of the roads were still filled with cars. the uncle in front of me got out and asked us to move to the side and just as we were doing that the last car who caused the whole accident sped off. WTH yes im involved in a hit and run accident.

fortunately i only suffered a bruised knee and my car wasnt in a bad shape, just a misalignment. but the Altis in front of me chui. hint guys Altis bad quality. No buy. the first person i called was daddy and then mommy and then darling. by the time i called him i was already crying, the uncle was so stunned to see me crying =X but yeah well it's a learning experience like what my uncles said. thankfully im not seriously hurt, just a little shaken.

because it was a hit and run, i had to report this incident to the police who will sub it to the traffic police division to find that black car owner. i went to the police after valuation lecture with my parents and kok, spent hell a lot of time there recording the incident, and then to the insurance company. i had to recount the entire story upteen times to my parents and police and draw boxes for insurance. gosh it was hell of a day for me.

if it wasnt for supportive dad and mom, i guess i'll be really traumatise over the whole incident, not only did they not scold me (okay mommy did a little) but they just said it's okay it'll happen at least once to every new driver. and not forgeting my bf :) who stayed with me throughout the day, making sure im alright, driving me around, from sch back home and to insurance company although he had tonnes of project to do that day. i love my bf :)

3months on a face to face level but 6 on a virtual level heeeeeeeeeeeee

on our very special day, he surprised me by calling at 12am 160310. though he was already sleeping. =) the next morning we went for Ya Kun Kaya @ NUS before i have my project meeting. just a simple breakfast with someone u love feels so good =).

the day carried on with the usual lects and tut. i couldnt wait to be done with those and meet him for dinnerrr. he appeared at the door window during envt tut to "surprise" me, and yes i smiled like an idiot =) so sweet of him to get my donuts to satiate my hunger temporarily.

dinner was at Ma Maison @ Central. recommanded by hungrygowhere for romance and first date. we had Clam Chowder, Soba Salad and Paella. but of course nothing can beat the original Paella in Barcelona. i guess the atmosphere was good la but the food was so-so for the price.

and i pulled out a present for him, haha all thanks to caderam and nana, kok already knew i bought him a coin pouch for our 3rd month. =P boooooo so i decided to SMOKE him hehehe, got a wrapped present from nana, booklight which is a free gift from PFM, and he gave me a shock yet disappointed looook when he opened it. but still did not believe i didnt buy a coin pouch. he pulled my bag towards his side while distracting me and pulled out the wrapped braun buffel box which i intended to give him during dessert. bleeeeh!

took a walk along the singapore river and decided we should go somewhere for a quiet evening, and so he decided mt faber. in the car he suddenly said, " eh i left some sweets in the dashboard, can help me take?" i looked at him and laugh because i can read his face! haha anticipated something to be in there. hehehe yes and im right! =P u arent good at surprises too =P hehe and he knows what i need and got me a iphone car charger so i wont have anymore battery flat days =))))) how thoughtful

but well we didnt have any dessert, headed to Faber point instead and the view was awesome, nv knew there's such a place in Singapore. and he finally got to open his present from me! hehe im glad u liked it =)

15th of March is always a happy day for me and my family. Happy birthday Paaaaaaaaaa! =) shant disclose his age here because he is always so shy about that. haha the older he gets the younger he looks. the greatest man/pa in the world. i love him so dearly although at time i seem to be a little rebellious. because this year he has advance to a special age group, he decided that he doesnt want any fanfare, just a simple dinner with the family makes him a happy man.

picked kok up from NUS after he is done with his work at open house and headed to Liang Kee at havelock rd and had a hearty meal with everyone. there were so much food, and mommy still added another plate of noodles. i guess pple tend to eat more when they are happy. indeed paaaa was. saying soo many things which i didnt expect him to say, all smiles for the birthday man yesterday night.

birthdays after birthdays, March is always full of them. Zj, Bp, Marc and Dad's. despite the whole eat shit and die incident, i'm pretty much contented with how things are going this month.

six medals in the 1st 2 weeks of March came as a surprise. after leaving the bowling circle for so darn long, i decided maybe it's time to return, it's my last year afterall. so i started with the sde bowling tourny which, i am not very proud of. =P performance wasnt that great anyway. so 3 was from here.

next was the BRE walk which was such a last minute thing. got pulled in by cad and bp the day before the walk. organised by BEMs with the aim of socialising students and profs. and kok n i, together with bp were grouped with prof yu. the walk became a run, with prof yu taking the lead while the 3 of us slogged our way to the finishing line, at the end we emerged as champions.

last one happened last saturday, in which i spent almost 12 hours in the bowling centre with my bowling pals from NUS. an event organised by NTU, the price was overcharged i feel, $50 bucks and eventually i didnt even manage to cover the cost. $5 short. again, im half way between being contented and disappointed with my performance. contented because, i think i still have it in me, just that i need more training. disaapointed because, i expect more from myself, result of complacency, not attending trainings. but oh well, though fight for a bronze after a disappointing 127 in the opening game.

okay and enough of 'bragging'. boon's birthday was i guess the funniest of all. we celebrated at fish & co. after the sde bowling tourny, where he had an extreme bike sport performed on him and his all time favourite cheers to his birthday by the fish & co crew in west coast plaza. he was even sporting enough to stand on a chair outside the restaurant in public. happy birthday boon.

the next social event, all thanks to eug lee was the gala premier of the Kidnapper, a local film by Kevin Tong starring Christopher Lee and Phyllis Quek. So kok and me, kelly and eug lee attended the movie at Vivo city, and we managed to sit in the cinema where the main cast were at and many other local celebrities were sitted at the back of us. We were like the 4 under dressed people in the cinema, most were in dresses and heels.

Personally i feel the movie is pretty good as compared to the other Singaproe movies i've watched. Not a funny comedy movie like those of Jack Neos. There were lots of gore and blood in the movie, not for a faint hearted unless u're watching with your boyfriend, kok my refuge. shant be a spoiler for those who havent watch it, so i shall not reveal the storyline. Do watch it! i think it's wortht it.

crossing the line

im gonna make this an open thing, you may like it, you may not. Some of you may think we're no different, putting people down on blogs. but seriously this time round, u've really crossed the line. i've closed one eye on the things you've been doing and you turned around again and bite me.

Everyone in the group are trying to make things better between us, but u're certainly not helping at all. Spare a thought for others before u get worked up and emotional over senseless stuff.

would the circumstances be different if he wasnt in that group? I mean to me this is just a smal matter and after talking it out with the rest I guess we all share the same sentiment. Win win situation or to your own beneficial emotional needs?

just completed a 2500 words essay on ageing population in singapore. has been a real traumatising assignment i must say. nv knew i could write so much on my own *phew glad its over. but this is just the start, a warm up for much dreaded dissertation.

back to reading on fertility issues in singapore. ahhh this module is sucking the life out of me.

craving the life i had back in Germany where life is much peaceful. sipping wine by the river, taking bike trips around town, snapping pictures of lovely vineyards, talking crap with housemates, planning trips, taking the train up and down to the city and other parts of the world. sigh i love germany.

the next day, 1st of March, Swine faced huang's 24th Birthday! haha bought him a cake from Hans early in the morning because class was at 9am. only 24 cake shop i can think off plus kelly's hand made swine face.

only went for zj's birthday dinner at wednesday because he was simply too busy with his other friends to spare some time for us =P. Buffet at tung lok group restaurant Zhou's Kitchen at Jurong Pt which instead of the ala carte tung lok buffet, have the usual buffet spread. the food was not bad, best part of it was, different types of food are served continously, so u better act fast if u like the pig trotter because once it's out, they'll change a new dish. too bad the buffet period is gonna be up on the 16th of March, go try it! combined with bp's birthday, cad made an impromptu birthday cake for the 2 boys.

Yet another CNY

a neglected space of mine, i'm simply too busy to even blog frequently, bogged with school work & bowling. mainly school work la 6 mods, 6 projects....god help me

recounting the events, CNY is now over but it's still not too late to blog about it! had been a fruitful CNY, received ang baos eating gambling eating gambling. haha 14th day of CNY, had a party at my house, invited only the dearest friends, too lazy to invite more =X. a cosy crowd of lycans plus 2 spoilt brats, black jacking all night long till 4am in the morning.

and then it was the last day of CNY, woke up pretty late the next day, met love for lunch at Adam's Rd food centre for big Hei Mee! yum yum, have been craving for that since Zion rd. we still prefered the Zion rd Hei Mee it's more gao haha quoted frm love. yeaps and then to mug for disgusting RM, booooo. the last day of CNY which means the last day of Yu sheng! hehe i havent really had a good one this year, so i decided to get one from Sushi Tei which turned out to be awesome but the service was real bad, the manager at West coast gave me a nasty look when i told her i needed 15 chopsticks and she didnt close the cover properly, so the sauce poured all over plastic bag. bad service.

was invited to join terrah for their reunion lunch at alfian's place on a thurs afternoon. we should have our reunion tooo lycans! haha *hints* we had steamboat for lunch, this was only half of the food we had on the table, there were like lala and live prawns *yum yum* =P scallop and my favourite crab meat ! =) i was filled to the brim after lunch. we all put played our part in preparing the food, and i heard this is kok's first time helping out =PPPP hahaha oops =x

time to do some workout, that is Wii!!!! haha although i have one at home too, i totally suck at that game, especially tennis on Wii..sorry darling u've got to cover me =P

the afternoon was filled with laughters :) what a nice and warm cny gathering, thanks alfian for being such a good host to all. groups photos are always my fav! haha took so many shots because ben peh kept spoiling the photos for us by moving left n right. see still a little blur! haha =P

Chu Er lo! gambling has became first priority in my family of gamblers, black jack is always the hot favourite followed by mahjong. with so many of us, the dining room in my grandma place can hardly fit all.

this time, dinner is literally cooked outside the house. first time im having this thing called "lok lok"! it's similar to steamboat except, they use water instead of soup base. there's a station which u can boil your sticks of yummy food, grill for bbq and pot of sizzling hot oil to fry, all in 1 VAN! cool huh? check our the picures! i think it's a amazing concept, i heard there's a popiah van and a satay van too.

happening chu er calls for a birthday celebration, ah fatt Q's birthday, seldom get a chance to celebrate his birthday, haha only if CNY falls on his bdae can i get to eaat the birthday cake. Happy birthday :)

the night was still young for some of us, those who are 18 and above of course, haha the new tradtion started last year became a tradition tradition this year. haha u knw what i mean. plus cousin sze ling is getting married in Oct! our pre congratulatory bachelorette party for u before u get promoted to auntie lvl =P before she knows it, she was knocked out thanks to everybody. tried a new alcohol called bombay sapphire, eeeeeew! haha not too well liked by me! =P but nonetheless thanks cousin for the treat! what a name for a club Library and there is mr librarian for the night at the bottom. haha well i guess today's the most happening day of CNY in msia for me, most tiring one too yawns. on a sidenote, i didnt realise until today that mr G10 takes such nice night portrait photos!! hehe loveee

started driving a week ago, without the need of mommy sitting beside me in the car, guiding me like she used to. im driving the ah pek nissan sunny to school almost everyday. Been stuck in the jam every morning, i really hate that! i've got wake up super duper early for school like 0630?! for the 9am class goshhhhh.

okay so life have been pretty hectic, with 6 mods to cope and 1 dissertation topic to look for. however, life isnt all work, sometimes we just got to unwind & let loose.

3rd one since i entered NUS, this time wasnt as fun compared to the other years because i dont know anyone! except for the usual few who nv fail to grace the events. kelly eug, cad nana, bp, kok n me. it was held in Butter, my first time there. songs the dj put on were so much better than phuture! haha =P love dancing with u hun =)

Prelude to CNY 2010

CNY shopping with <3

because he wasnt feeling well after clubbing 2 days in a row (tsk tsk!) we didnt meet for like 3 days, so we decided to date each other during one of the sundays. to walk and explore all the new shopping centres along orchard rd. and yeah we did that! =P walk in out the shopping mall, n i think somerset 313 is pretty impressive, i love the 4 storey Forever21 =) hehez

at night, we went to Chinatown to soak into the hot and humid CNY market atmosphere, had dinner at the usual korean restuarant and then to fav KOI for bubbletea and into the crowded streets of Chinatown. we didnt buy anything, everything else looks the same every year anyway. =P

yeapps, 2nd reunion dinner with the lycans in technoedge, just like last year, we went to NTUC to get additional food and as usual, we got more than we could eat! only difference this year is, no abalone =P (recession)

all those who were present with the addition of kok & shimin this year. we were so full after the dinner, kok n i decided to go for a walk at telok blangah hill. haha i've nv been there b4, first time, was pretty beautiful and nice up there, away from the noisy rds, just the both of us, and the stars =) awww

Sungei Buloh Nature Park

we didnt let the exploration spirit die even when we are back in Singapore. im so not use to sitting at home on a weekend, all those travelling in europe made my feet itchy every weekend, i need to go somewhere, somewhere new. so we decided to venture into Kranji, after checking google map for directions, we were off to the nature park!

it wasnt as interesting as i tot it would be actually, kinda dull in a way. but on the up side, we managed to catch a glimpse of some wildlife up close, first was the monitor lizard and then the alligator, and some mud crabs and mud skippers, of course some really huge mosquitos =|

im into my "2nd" week of school, officially the 3rd, life has been pretty hectic compared to EBS. 6 mods this semester and i've got lectures everyday, tutorials are yet to come.

nothing much happened in the past week, except that we caught our first movie tgt as a couple, New York, I Love You. Personally, i feel it was a dull movie, haha too deep for me to comprehend, same for him. but the company is what that matters anyway :)

and i missed ah chew so much when i was in Europe, we went there after the movie and had my fav mango sago topped with mango ice cream! yumyum hehe

and yes im home! for a week now, gosh it's so so so HOT! and im finally back in school and met a couple of those i've missed sooooo much! Kelly especially :)

and of course our fave activity, EATING & TEO-HENGing! Cashmere in Katong, was a little above average indian Buffet that cost $10, had wonderful butter chicken & naan :) and then to the much missed bubble tea, "auntie, honey green tea!" hahaha yummmy ! not forgeting all the Jaychou songs :)

2 days after touch down in singapore was our 1 month anniversary, tired out from all the travelling, we decided to make it a simple yet special one.

started the day off with having lunch tgt at the nearby hawker centre which served up almost all the food im missing :)

a quick insight on Rome. We went to all the Must see places except for the Vatican city on Day 1. We had lovely weather on day 1, the sun was shining above us, and it wasnt cold, felt like Singapore for a moment.

first blogpost of 2010. no time to update my blog. been on the road for almost 3weeks now. cities after cities i go. barely have time to use the internet, needless to say blog. im just gonna summarise my trip so far

well let's start from the beginning. very first place i visited after exams was Venice. A city built on water. just a day trip. took the night train from Munich to Venice and arrived at 6.30am in the morning. place is beautiful and fascinating. Houses built on water, no cars or buses but boats that ferry u around the city. Dec in Venice is always flooding. St Marks square was of course flooded too, thankfully it hasnt reach knee level.

while people in Singapore strive hard for a driving licence, people here i guess will be needing a boat licence. the weather wasnt too good, very foggy day and it was soo damn cold! brrrr......
